Our Services

The goal for my practice is to always work in deep connection with the horse's mind & body, using gentle techniques that stay beneath their resistance threshold. I provide a complete (mind, body, spirit) approach that identifies areas of pain, accumulated tension, and addresses the root causes of compensation patterns.
With a comprehensive toolkit of massage and bodywork modalities, I release restrictions in the fascia and soft tissue, build on biomechanically correct posture, and aim to relieve and restore any imbalances found in the body.
Horses at any level can improve. My goal is to help you take a proactive approach to their well being, keeping them moving freely and supporting future soundness. Small issues are much easier to manage when caught early before they turn into bigger challenges.

Contrary to old belief systems, equine massage & bodywork is not just a spa day (although it sure can be!) or only for horses in rehab.
It is a valuable addition to your horse’s routine care plan, just like proper nutrition, hoof care, and dental work. Regular sessions help maintain healthy movement patterns and can head off small issues before they become bigger problems. It is much more efficient to keep a healthy horse sound than to rehab an injury.
I encourage partnership with your vet, farrier, dentist, chiropractor, and/or trainer and am willing to collaborate for the benefit of your horse. Together, we can provide complete, holistic care and an organized approach to maintain long term soundness.
The Modalities you might encounter during a session
Massage Therapy
This hands-on therapy incorporates two primary techniques: Swedish massage and deep tissue massage, each offering distinct benefits.
Swedish massage uses gentle, flowing strokes to promote relaxation, stimulate circulation, and ease soreness, making it ideal for reducing stress and enhancing overall comfort.
In contrast, deep tissue massage targets deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue with slow, focused pressure to release chronic tension, alleviate tightness, and restore mobility.
By combining these techniques, equine massage therapy can be tailored to meet the unique needs of every horse’s body and tension level.
Myofascial Release Therapy
This therapy focuses on releasing restrictions in your horse's fascia—a connective tissue network that supports and surrounds muscles, bones, and organs. When adhesions form in the fascia, they create areas of tension and stiffness that can restrict your horse’s range of motion and alter natural movement patterns.
These adhesions can be caused by injury, repetitive strain, poor posture, or overuse. It’s not unusual to find tight fascia under the saddle area. Fascial adhesions are common and lead to compensatory movement, increased strain on other areas of the body (it’s all connected,) and even chronic pain or reduced performance.
Unlike traditional massage, which targets muscle tension, myofascial release therapy uses gentle, sustained pressure to soften and release these adhesions, restoring flexibility and hydration to the fascial system.
Imagine shrink wrap all over the body that’s way too tight. That’s restricted fascia! When the fascia is freed up, the muscles have room to move again.
Trigger Point Therapy
This is a targeted approach to relieving pain and tension in your horse by addressing hyper-irritable points within the muscles, known as trigger points.
These small, knot-like areas can develop due to overuse, stress, or injury and often cause referred pain, which means discomfort may be felt in areas far from the actual trigger point. Trigger points can restrict muscle function, limit range of motion, and lead to compensatory movement patterns over time.
Through careful palpation and precise pressure techniques, trigger point therapy releases these knots, alleviates pain, and restores normal muscle function.
Acupressure
Acupressure is a holistic therapy that taps into the ancient principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine to support your horse’s energy flow. By applying gentle, targeted pressure to specific acupoints along the body, acupressure helps restore and balance the flow of energy, or Qi, through the meridians—pathways that influence physical and emotional health.
This non-invasive technique can relieve tension, promote relaxation, and address a variety of issues, such as pain, stiffness, or digestive discomfort. Acupressure works in harmony with other therapies to support your horse’s natural ability to heal and thrive
Red Light and Cold Laser Therapy
Red light and cold laser therapy are advanced, non-invasive modalities designed to support your horse’s healing and overall performance. Using specific wavelengths of light, these therapies penetrate the tissues to stimulate cellular regeneration, reduce inflammation, and improve circulation. This makes them especially effective for addressing sore muscles, joint discomfort, and soft tissue injuries.
Red light therapy is ideal for promoting general wellness and recovery, while cold laser therapy targets deeper tissues for more precise healing. These treatments complement massage and other bodywork techniques, offering an additional layer of care to help your horse recover faster, move more freely, and feel their best.
Coming Soon
I am currently pursuing certification in both kinesiology taping and western saddle fitting.
Kinesiology taping is a versatile tool used to support your horse’s muscles, joints, and recovery process. By gently lifting the skin, the tape improves circulation, reduces inflammation, and enhances lymphatic drainage. It’s perfect for aiding in injury recovery, providing extra stability without restricting movement, and promoting overall comfort and performance. I will be needing case studies for certification so be sure to ask if you would like taping included in your session for no fee!
Saddle Fitting
Saddle fitting has been a lifelong study for me and my goal is to be able to help you not only determine whether or not your saddle is a good fit for your horse, but to be able to offer real world solutions and a tangible plan to be able to help you find one that does work, should you need it.
While there is no official “western saddle fit certification” program in the USA, I am enrolled in a Canadian program and have also been through the Montana Horseman’s Saddle Building School certification program. I built 2 saddles at school, and additionally have built several more western saddles on my own and have studied Rod & Denise Nikkel’s extensive educational materials, including website materials and their very thorough video series. There is no one size fits all solution, but I bring a unique perspective to the table and believe that I have something to offer folks in the way of being able to help with saddle fitting problems.
Poor saddle fit is a very large contributor to many of the dysfunction issues found in the horses’ body and I am determined to help through my continuing education and growing experience.
I would also like to add that I am not aligned with any specific tree or saddle company. I will work with you to find the best solution to your situation, whatever that looks like. I do have a set of the Dennis Lane Back profiling cards and am happy to help you get measurements for a truly custom built tree, should you decide to go that route.
Pricing & Packages
My pricing structure is very simple. Each session is $100 and if multiple sessions are purchased at the same time, they are bundled into packages that save you money.
Foundation Session - $100
This is the first session your horse will have when we start to work together. All horses start here. This one typically runs a little longer as we will go over intake paperwork, discuss your horse’s history and any current problems or concerns you may be having. I will also take a little longer to let your horse get to know me and become comfortable with the process. I will require the owner or trainer be in attendance for this session.
This session typically runs approximately 90 minutes.
Progress Session - $100
Some horses will benefit from more frequent sessions (every 1-3 weeks) initially to address tension and compensation we uncovered in the Foundation Session. Chronic patterns of tension will take a little longer to unwind and more frequent sessions in the beginning will help prevent regressing back to the restricting compensation patterns that led to the initial visit. These are also good for horses that are actively competing or working long, hard days.
These session typically run between 60 an 90 minutes.
Maintenance Session - $100
These sessions are a little less frequent and are ideally what we are aiming for once any chronic issues are addressed with your horse. Some horses go right from the foundation session to the maintenance sessions.
These typically last approximately 60 minutes.
